John Bourne Group Dinner Raises Money for Kent Air AmbulanceReleased at:08:00 09/01/2008 £705 raised by guests at dinner At its recent 60th Anniversary dinner Kent based family run business the John Bourne Group held a raffle in aid of Kent Air Ambulance. A tremendous total of £705.00 was raised by guests during the evening. The exciting prizes were donated by Barenbrug UK Ltd, Tarmac Topsport, Kent County Cricket Club and Lingfield Park Racecourse. They included two passes to Lingfield Park Racecourse, a family ticket to a 2008 County Championship Match at Kent County Cricket Club, a DVD Player, an IPOD, a digital camera, a microwave oven, fine French brandy and quality whiskey. Peter Bourne Chairman of the John Bourne Group said; “I would like to thank all of our guests who made our 60th Anniversary celebration even more meaningful by helping us to raise money for Kent Air Ambulance.” He went on to add; “Guests had a wonderful time during the evening having the opportunity to meet our guest speakers Caroline Spelman, MP for Meriden & Chairman of the Conservative Party and ex-British Lions RFU player Tony Horton, as well as being entertained by talents of magician Michael Webb and the Feel Good Band.” Lynn Hyder, County Fundraiser for the Kent Air Ambulance said; “It costs £1.5 million each year to keep this lifesaving service operational and without any Government or National Lottery funding we are solely dependent on the generosity of the people of Kent. We would like to thank the John Bourne Group for supporting us in this way.”
