Haulage

Haulage Solutions in London and the Home Counties

John Bourne & Co. have been operating vehicles for almost three quarters of a century, giving us a wealth of experience and understanding in this industry and the sectors we serve.

With a wide range of vehicles in our fleet, from standard tippers and bulkers to grabs and even multidrop solutions, we can tackle the most difficult logistical situations.

Our Vehicles

Our fleet of vehicles is the pride of John Bourne & Co. Our industry-leading fleet includes rigid tippers, bulk tippers, walking floor tippers, grab vehicles, flatbeds and artics. Our robust fleet is complemented by qualified operators, 360-degree excavators, telehandlers and wheeled loaders. All our vehicles are FORS Gold compliant, meeting all local emissions and operational requirements.

Types of Vehicle

Our fleet of lightweight tippers ensures maximum payload of the 15m3 body. Other service providers use steel body tippers, used for heavy/difficult size products. As a result, we achieve between 1.5 and 2t extra payload. This maximises deliveries of products bought by weight and ensures the most efficient load factors.

Bulk Vehicles allow transportation of light weight material through an increased capacity of 30m3, perfect for barks, mulches, compost and lime.

The very versatile 8 wheel grab vehicles offer the capability to deliver loose or bulk bag loads. They are capable of self-loading on work such as muck away and site clearances.

Our 8 wheel grab lorries are available to hire for waste collection and disposal, and haulage per load, per day, or on a contract mileage basis.

FORS Gold

We recognised early that it would be beneficial to the group to improve our compliance, training and Health and Safety, as standards were changing outside of the business. Now a long-standing FORS Gold standard business, we believe it demonstrates our willingness to champion change. This helps us monitor and reduce our emissions, improve driver training and improving our impacts on the environment.

We continue to use the FORS e-learning portal and FORS workshops as a basis for all our improvements. These learning platforms are a major benefit of being a FORS Gold Member. The FORS scheme supports our vision as a business which allows continuous growth and development, not only as individuals but as a whole as well. Maintaining those high standards is key and FORS supports us in doing so, for example in the form of the online courses they offer.
